Social Media Intern

As a Social Media Manager intern for the University of North Dakota, I dove into the dynamic world of digital communications, where each day brought new challenges and learning opportunities. My role was multifaceted, blending creative content capture with strategic planning to engage the university’s diverse audience effectively.

Armed with a camera and a passion for storytelling, I covered sports events, lectures, and student gatherings, capturing candid moments that showcased the vibrancy and spirit of the UND community. My goal was clear: to highlight the essence of the university through visuals and narratives that resonated with students, faculty, alumni, and prospective students alike.

One of the most fulfilling aspects was witnessing our efforts translate into increased followers, higher engagement rates, and positive feedback, reflecting the impact of our strategies. This experience sharpened my skills in digital storytelling, analytics, and strategic communication, emphasizing the powerful role of social media in shaping perceptions and fostering community. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to UND’s digital presence and am excited to bring these skills to my future in digital marketing and communications.

NCHC Frozen Faceoff

Video Intern

During the 2016 NCHC Frozen Faceoff tournament, I had the exciting opportunity to serve as a video intern, diving deep into the world of collegiate hockey to capture the intensity and spirit of the sport through my lens and interviews. This role went beyond filming—it meant fully immersing myself in the passion and energy that defines college hockey at such a pivotal tournament.

Working in this fast-paced environment required constant alertness and adaptability. I had to be ready to pivot at a moment’s notice, responding to unexpected game outcomes, seizing impromptu interview opportunities, or tackling technical issues that demanded quick resolution. The challenge of producing high-quality content under tight deadlines was intense, but that pressure was precisely what made this experience so rewarding.

This internship gave me a unique insight into the demands and excitement of sports media, equipping me with valuable skills in live-event production, quick decision-making, and the art of storytelling under pressure—skills that continue to fuel my passion for media and storytelling in dynamic environments.
